This place really is a little piece of Franschhoek heaven. The views are breathtaking, the cottage a perfect home away from home.
Turning off the road, into Rose Cottages Estate, you creep through the vineyards, on a narrow dirt track, until you are completely surrounded by bright green brilliance. I would challenge anyone to arrive at this blissful spot and not feel instantly relaxed.
This little cottage has amazing views 360 degree; eyes are spoilt for choice in every direction they wander.
The layers of vines, the deciduous and evergreen trees, the mountains and the bright blue sky all adding to the vibrance of this picture perfect landscape.
There is so much that Franschhoek has to offer but be warned, if you are staying at The Vineyard, it is virtually impossible to tear yourself away from this little retreat to venture into civilization.
The cottage has a casual sophisticated feel; homely in quaint French style. This cottage caters for all seasons, boasting a sparkling blue pool, irristisable after a hot summer’s day wine tasting or hiking, and a cosy fireplace and ornate Victorian style bath for winter stays and chilly evenings.
My brief stay at The Vineyard will have me smiling all week, dreaming of the tranquillity and harmony oozed by this charming little spot; a summer break here was incredible, I imagine a cosy winter weekend will be just as special. One thing is for sure, I am no longer saving for a rainy day, I am saving to reserve myself a few relaxing, treasured days at this heavenly spot, The Vineyard.
